Jiri Ghumna jau firiri

Jiri is the small landlocked valley lies at mountainous region in Central Development Region of Nepal. It lies between 27°37′ N to 27°41′ N latitude and 86°11’E 86°16′ E longitude. It exits is from 1700 masl (Seurani) to 3690 masl (Chyordong) in elevation with temperate to cool alpine environment. Its geography and climatic condition is often compared to the Zurich city of Switzerland. So, Jiri of Dolakha is also known as the Switzerland of Nepal. When you reach Jiri, which is about 200 km from the capital, you get a different feeling. Jiri can be reached from Kathmandu via Kavre, Sindhupalchok, Charikot, the headquarters of Dolakha. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmond Hillary, the first successful Everest climbers, climbed Mount Everest through Jiri, and thousands of tourists have reached the top of Mount Everest through this route. Jiri Bazar was once known as the gateway to Mount Everest.

The major attractions of Jiri are its waterfalls, caves, ponds, streams, angled green banyan forests and beautiful valleys from the high hills to the aborigines Jirel, Sherpa, Tamang, Sunuwars’ distinct art culture, costumes and local food.
