According to the local senior of this place, Lauti waterfall was named as Lauti because a banjhatri called Lauti used to bathe in this waterfall and many children who look after cattle usually come around were brought by the banjhantri and sent to learn various witchcraft and diviner vidya. Previously, using the water of this fall a large commercial of trout fish farm has been operated a little lower from the fall. Simultaneously, Kalanga Tea Garden, Mahadev Cave along with other small Caves can be observed.
About 50 meters high Lauti Waterfall is also the main attraction of Jiri and a destination for most of the tourist.
How to reach: you can get to this place from Jiri Manedanda through a paved road of about 3 km. The way to this fall is best for hiking. it can be reached from Manedanda in about 1 hour.
What to bring: if you are going for the hike, it is best to bring some light food and water along with you.
